Meet Our Team
at Carmel Village
Chuck Eusey
Executive Director
After actively participating in my grandmother’s experience of living in an assisted living community, it became apparent to me that I have a passion for seniors. My career in senior living started out as a volunteer in activities, which then led to an Executive Director position since 2012. My passion is working with and for seniors in order to impact their lives in a positive way and to be a support to their families. To me it is about recruiting, training, supporting and inspiring a caring and compassionate team that can love, support and serve our residents. I am grateful to be a part of this team!
David Kuzmiak
Sales & Marketing Director
After working for over 20 years in the hotel industry, I started serving seniors and their families in 2014. I am passionate about improving seniors’ lives through the incredible attributes and the legendry service our community has to offer. Let me know how I can serve you!
Karen Ashley, LVN
Director of Health Services
I was born and raised in York City and I have one daughter and 2 grandchildren. I come from a family in the Medical field and my dream was to always be a nurse. I’ve been a geriatric nurse for 31 years. My passion is Assisted Living and I love helping people. I also have a Homeless Ministry and I go into the jails to speak to the women about bettering their lives. I’m currently working on my Honorary Doctrine in Theology. It’s an honor to serve the residents and their families here at Carmel Village.
Teri McLeod
Chef
For 28 years my life and goal has been dedicated to providing great customer service and the creation of an amazing dining experience. I am passionate about engaging residents around the creation of great food and a memorable dining experience. With over 20 years of fine dining restaurants, hotel and corporate dining, I feel like I have come full circle in my culinary journey which started on the east coast in Massachusetts. I am so excited to create new memories with our residents at Carmel Village.
Rose Street
Activities Director
I’ve had an amazing opportunity to work with seniors for over 20 years. I was a Director for a non-profit organization, then a caregiver, an Activity Assistant and now the Activity Director at Carmel Village. I’ve been here for over eight years and each day I’m motivated by my team and the love for my residents to continue giving them the best time of their lives with each activity and event I plan. The smiles on their faces at the end of each day is priceless.
Petra Vargas
Business Office Manager
I have been with Carmel Village over 25 years. It has been a great experience to know our residents and families. Throughout the years I have heard wonderful stories from our residents, families and co-workers. I have three wonderful grown children and two grandkids that I spoil. I hope to be here for another 25 years! Carmel Village has been my second home.
Thelma Unite
Memory Care Director
Prior to becoming a nurse, I was a caregiver for six years specializing in Lou Gehrig’s disease, dementia, Alzheimer’s and end-of-life care. Working at Carmel Village gave me a bigger purpose to serve our community with respect and dignity. I see beauty in every little thing. I enjoy riding my bike to work, walking to the doggie beach and singing my heart out while cooking in the kitchen.
Alfonso Cerda
Maintenance Director
I love working at Carmel Village. The smallest things like hanging a picture in an apartment, changing a lightbulb or fixing a TV remote is rewarding for me.
